Student Alliance with Refugees and Immigrants
Student Alliance with Refugees and Immigrants (SARI) seeks to unite students to welcome, support, and learn with refugees through cultural exchange and resettlement. Our organization is fully student run and centers our work in the Mercer County Area. The group has been active since 2021 starting as a club at Princeton High School which discussed and advocated for global migration issues. At the beginning of the 2022 school year, SARI organized an ESL after school program at the Hun School based on cultural exchange for K-8 students of refugee families. In July of 2023 SARI became an official non-profit in order to expand and formalize our resettlement efforts. SARI as a non-profit is now beginning to support refugee resettlement through student volunteer recruitment, refugee right advocacy, educational programs, and fundraising for local families.
