SARI’s first community wide event and fundraiser will serve as a cultural exchange between local students, families, and refugees. Afghan refugees who have become leaders in the refugee resettlement community will share their stories of migration and resettlement. SARI members will then discuss how students and community members can organize and donate to contribute to resettlement efforts. This event will be catered with a Halal, Kosher, and vegetarian dinner. All proceeds from the event will support educational and ESL tutoring for a local refugee family.
